Saturday 11th January - walks **** – Circuit from Falkenham Church – sunny and cold with fog late.

Another very cold, frosty day with mainly lovely winter sunshine some fog did roll in, we had no plans for today so had a lazy morning at home, I did my exercises while Mag made some yummy homemade soup while the cats Benny and Rue had fun in the frosty garden:) We decided to drive over to our favourite Falkenham Church for a peaceful picnic with ‘Emily’ and a walk in the lovely Suffolk countryside:) We arrived late around two and after checking out the snowdrops, a few out with loads coming we enjoyed our soup in perfect peace and quiet with lovely views down to the Deben, we even spotted a buzzard which landed in a nearby tree:) We then set off for a 2.5 mile circuit from the church with puddles frozen and frost still in the shade, we had not gone far when we spotted a large herd of deer by a small copse used for pheasants we think and played hide and seek with them as they disappeared into the woods only to run out when we walked past. They were an amazing site running and jumping as they raced across the open fields, a rare site here as we don’t often spot the deer here! We continued along the farm track through the farmyard turning down past the sewage works, stopping to look at the small farm reservoir as the fog rolled in, then home for a warming cuppa and a hot water bottle:)
